MIXER

About the
SMX TYPE STATIC MIXER
An SMX-type static mixer is ideal for homogenization and dispersion. It is highly efficient for laminar mixing of high-viscosity fluids, such as when the main flow is high-viscosity and the added material is low-viscosity or vice versa. SMX mixers can handle fluid mixing operations with viscosity ratios up to 1,000,000. Moreover, SMX mixers are excellent devices for both laminar and turbulent dispersion of gases in liquid flows, as well as for the dispersion of two immiscible liquids. SMX mixers are frequently used for component mixing in polymerization reactors, polymer production, plastic processing, or laminar dispersion in homogenization processes.
Advantage
Excellent for mixing high-viscosity fluids or fluids with significant viscosity differences
Complete mixing possible even in short lengths
Effective for pre-reaction mixing through high shear force
No sediment or clogging due to cross-mixing
Thermal and viscosity homogenization
How it works

When fluid enters the tube, the first static element divides the flow and reverses its direction. As the fluid passes through each subsequent element, it is repeatedly rearranged and sheared, achieving adequate mixing even under laminar conditions. Through this continuous flow redistribution and shearing action, uniform mixing is possible even between high-viscosity fluids or fluids with significant viscosity differences.
